Highlights from the Road to Hana.

Jon may have been right about the volcano sunrise, but he was NOT right about the road to hana. Here are the highlights (all within the first hour of the 8 hour windy miserable drive).

Sunrise in Maui

Jon decided that waking up at 3:30 a.m., driving 2 hours up a windy 10,000 feet volcano was and watching the sunrise was a must. I guess I'll give him this one, it was beautiful.
Here we are freezing our butt off. Did I mention that it was record winds and ice burg cold?!
Here is the volcano after the sunrise.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Black sand beach! The entire time we were in Maui I wanted to go see the breathtaking Red Sand Beach but it turned out to be too difficult to get to so we settled for this black sand beach. It was pretty cool as well.

The Maui aquarium was a little bit of a let down but Ella seemed to enjoy it!

More Maui

Some day I will remember that I have to upload these pictures in reverse order and do my blog entries the same way but not today. We had several beautiful rainbows. Alycia and Jon are getting ready to go snorkeling under this rainbow.
Little miss Ella walking the trial.

Maui 2010!

Spring Break
So we got away to Hawaii for Spring Break this year, and Alycia joined us. We had so much fun. Jon is still trying to get me to move there! Ella adored the beach and the ocean even more. Here she is making sand castles with Jon.

We stayed at the Westin and it was beautiful. Ella had to stop and look at the swans and fish ever time we walked through the lobby.
Here we are in front of the open-air lobby again.
